GAC S7 Export to Russia

Russia is a left-hand-drive market with long winters, where a plug-in hybrid's ability to fall back on its petrol engine matters more than in mild climates. Kunta, our B2B Solution Manager, handles Russian-language inquiries.

How does a PHEV cope with Russian winters?

Cold reduces the usable electric range of every battery vehicle. The GAC S7 keeps running on its 1.5T engine when the battery is depleted, so cold weather lowers efficiency rather than stopping the car. The Ultra 4WD trims add electric all-wheel drive for snow and ice — see the 2025 Ultra 4WD.

Which regulations apply?

Vehicles entering Russia must meet the Eurasian Economic Union technical regulation TR CU 018/2011 on the safety of wheeled vehicles, published by the Eurasian Economic Commission. Depending on how the vehicle is imported, this means a vehicle type approval or an individual vehicle safety certificate. Import duties and the recycling fee are set by Russian authorities and change frequently — confirm current rates with your customs broker.

Shipping and payment

Routes, delivery time and payment arrangements for Russia are agreed case by case and written on the proforma invoice. Contact sales with your destination city for a current proposal.

Import regulations change. The notes below are a starting point; confirm current requirements with your customs broker or the official authority linked on each page before ordering.
